- California's Proposition 65: The CFA is educating the industry about actions on this law by environmental and attorney groups toward manufacturers with 10 or more employees, where exposure to listed chemicals, including lead, might be problematic.

- Design Piracy Prohibition Act (DPPA): Reintroduced into the U.S. House of Representatives on April 30, 2009, the issue is continuing to be monitored. The CFA is collaborating with the American Apparel and Footwear Association and other industry groups to offer suggestions to Congress.

- Employee Free Choice Act (EFCA): The CFA continues to provide updates of congressional activities no the 'Card Check' issue. Contact the CFA office for a referral and information about the steps a company can take to prepare for the effects of this legislation.

- CPSC Compliance: The CFA's ongoing update for the Consumer Product Safety Commission guidelines affecting apparel producers of children's and junior's apparel. Current standards for implementation are in effect, and continued briefings will be sent to members.
